neither shareholders nor directors will appreciate being associated with this site but they can thank rick bailey for this because he is responsible for evading payment of outstanding debts stretching back to 2020.
Thwaites Publicly Ridiculed
Apart from the obvious what was Buchanan thinking of when he tried to rip-off his Creditor for a measly £285, and there again what was Bailey later thinking when he declined to intervene? Whatever either of them were thinking they never could have imagined being referred to as a pair of twats many months later! Back in March 2022 when it was all kicking off and realising their tactics had failed most intelligent businessmen would have tried to rectify what was a fast unfolding Internet crisis for their employers Daniel Thwaites PLC but that description doesn’t apply to this pair. In March the Creditor had already published 3 or 4 default notices on the Internet and warning signals should have flagged up but it didn't. Knowing the Creditor's company was a one man outfit the next bad decision they made, was assuming it wouldn't have the balls to take on a very much larger company like Thwaites but they got that wrong as well. What they didn't know then was they were dealing with a Cold War veteran who completed his national service some 60 plus years ago and his squadron's motto was 'Hit Fast and Hit Hard'. Returning to Buchanan and Bailey clearly their reputation is not going to be enhanced by this site but, they are their own worst enemies thinking they can continue to behave like a pair of absolute twats and not suffer the consequences. A big concern for them now is how their fellow directors will react when viewing the evidence presented here, not to mention what Thwaites shareholders will make of it all.
Today's date is the 25th October 2025 and whereas the default notices back in March 2022 numbered just 3 or 4 websites but now that has increased to more than 138 sites. Meanwhile the outstanding debt has mushroomed significantly because of payment penalties incurred by Thwaites and it now amounts to £233,065.00 as of November 2024.
Thwaites Shareholders :
Apart from the following institutional shareholders, Daniel Thwaites Plc’s controlling shares are held by the Yerburgh family and they control the purse strings. Rick Bailey also became a shareholder after marrying into the Yerburgh family in 2001 and surprise, surprise he was made a director of Daniel Thwaites the following year in 2002 and within a couple of years he was their CEO. This begs the question was he awarded a directorship on merit or was he simply in the right place at the right time? Interestingly, since taking charge Thwaites has sold off more than 250 Pubs leaving them with less than 200 remaining, wonder what happened to the proceeds.

Expensive and poor quality
Firstly we were not allowed to pick our own seats and were shown to a dark corner, the pub was very cold and when the meal arrived I was presented with undercooked veg and slices of turkey which had no taste at all and looked very much like the thinly sliced turkey you get in a supermarket, in fact I have had tastier turkey from a supermarket. The tastiest part of the meal were the mashed carrots. Felt it was money wasted and I will definitely not be eating here again. Don't usually write review

Not a good experience
We ordered two meals. Scampi and chips and Hunters chicken with chips. After 20 minutes we were told they had no Scampi and was offered Fish goujons but in batter not breadcrumbs. Why tell us after 20 minutes ? And not after we had ordered. Surely the chef should know what he has in . Another 25 minutes of waiting, the food arrived . Only to have some Scampi on it and some fish goujons. Over cooked. Fries not chips. The Hunters chicken had way too much cheese on top.

Good value lunch
Nice cosy pub with a real fire. Friendly service and good value pub grub cooked with pride. I can recommend the chicken breast in white wine sauce. Good atmosphere, home cooked food, lovely warm log fire. Would recommend. Excellent value Pool table and darts available.

Rip off, avoid at all coste
Absolute rip off!! Do not bother going, save your well earned money and go elsewhere. £10.45 for a pint of shandy and an orange and Lemonade. Absolutely scandalous. When I queried the cost, the bar tender looked sheepishly at the till, she knew it was overpriced and looked embarrassed. How a pub can charge those prices is ridiculous. In a city centre trendy bar I would expect that, not in a local pub.

Conned on afternoon tea.
Booked the afternoon tea for myself and friend for their birthday. On the website it says the price is £30. We enjoyed the food and service itself, but when it came to pay, our bill was £60. I questioned why it was double and the waitress said it was pp for the AT. On the website and menu there is nowhere it states its per person. No * used or small print, and was not explained when booked/on arrival and being seated.

Awful food
Food was cold, didn't have what was on the menu and agreed for a substitute, which I could have cooked better myself. Oven chips, cold veg and just not nice.

Restaurant Shocking.
Slow unattractive staff. Food was on this occasion acceptable. Incorrect order constantly asking what is ordered I don’t understand how places like this stay open they are lucky with the lack of competition in the area.
